Oregano oil has earned a strong reputation in the natural health world — but here’s something most people don’t realise:
Not all oregano oil is created equal.
In fact, the quality, purity, source, and even the species of the plant can dramatically change what ends up in your bottle.
At Solutions4Health, we believe you deserve complete transparency. No shortcuts. No confusion. No smoke and mirrors.
Just real oregano oil, crafted the way nature intended.
Let’s break down what actually matters when choosing an oregano oil — and why our commitment to authenticity sets us apart.
Many people assume oregano is oregano… but that’s not the case.
There are over 60 different species of oregano around the world, each with different natural properties. Some are mild culinary herbs. Others contain very little active compounds. Some are farmed in bulk and then “boosted” synthetically to appear stronger.
But the oregano used in high-quality medicinal oils?
That’s a very specific species: Origanum vulgare.
And it grows wild — not farmed — high in the Mediterranean mountains.
This is where we source ours.
The harsh, rocky environment naturally produces oregano with:
Higher resilience
Stronger aromatic compounds
Naturally elevated carvacrol levels
Wild plants simply cannot be replicated on a farm — and that’s why we go straight to nature.
If the bottle doesn’t tell you what species of oregano is used, that’s a red flag.
We use Origanum vulgare, the species traditionally recognised for:
Naturally high carvacrol (the key active component)
Naturally low thymol (important for safe daily use)
Some oregano oils on the market are made from different species with very high thymol, which can be harsh and unsuitable for regular intake. In some cases can even cause liver damage due to thymol toxicity.
Nature already created the perfect balance — we simply preserve it.
This is a big one.
There are products on the market with carvacrol percentages that look impressive… until you realise they’ve been synthetically enhanced to appear stronger.
We never alter or boost our oil.
Our carvacrol levels are naturally occurring, coming directly from the wild Mediterranean plants.
Why?
Because purity matters — and because your body deserves ingredients exactly as nature made them. Learn more in our blog Why Wild Grown Matters -->
